For this assignment, I would like you to give me "bullet" statements of what has happened in this weeks reading and submit.
College Students: I would also like you to comment next to the bullet statements as to your reaction to what is happening in the reading (comment to at least five of the bullet statements). This means I want some "thought" into your "thoughts". DO NOT expect credit for a few phrases spread here and there amongst the bullet statements.

and watching videos discussing Fahrenheit 451 (click on the icon).
When you get to the site, look on the right hand column at the
section labeled "Recaps for this Book". Watch videos 3 and 4
Use the scroll bar to make sure you see all of the videos available). You need to take notes over 4 of the videos.

Assignment 2.3
In this assignment, you will be clicking on the novel icon below. This will take you to the Sparknotes website for the novel.
Your job for this assignment?
~Read the "plot overview"
~write 12 bullet statements listing the
events of the plot in order, as well as the characters
and setting (who did what, when?)
~from these bullet statements, write a one paragraph
summary of the plot. Make sure you include the setting,
the main characters, and what happened in the story. Also, a good summary includes the basics of the entire storyline, rather than just the beginning, or your favorite parts.
~write a well-developed response to the novel. Did you like it? Did you hate it? Why?
Here is how "your response" should be done:
First sentence MUST tell me whether you liked the story or not and include your two reasons why you liked or didn't like the story. The rest of that first paragraph MUST support your first reason with examples from the novel to back up your reasoning. The second paragraph MUST support your second reason with examples from the novel.
Remember: The second sentence in the first paragraph MUST be your topic sentence for the first reason. The first sentence of the second paragraph MUST be your topic sentence for the second reason.
The "response" to the story must be 5-7 well-developed sentences for each of the two paragraphs to receive full credit.

Discussion Board Initial Comment.
Go to the Discussion Board and write your initial comment on one of the topics below. Your initial comment must be 5-7 well thought out sentences to receive credit for this assignment.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are now at a point where you should be able to do your own research for the discussion board questions. Don't write to me and say, "but they never talke about it in the summary, so how am I supposed to answer the question?". Google it and do some digging....this is what college will expect and you need to get used to doing it.

~What is the significance of the title?
~Do you feel you would rebel in a world like in the book? Or conform? Why do you say this?
~Why do you think Montag feels "empty" in the beginning of the story?
~Why is it that Montag begins to read books and why does he become so obsessed with reading?

~For what reason might Hugo have had for using a cathedral as the center piece for the novel?
~In what way is Claude Frollo not your stereotypical villain?
~After Quasimodo tries to kidnap La Esmerelda, she still brings him water after he is tortured, why would she do this?
~Why do you think Quasimodo's skeleton is found with La Esmerelda's remains? How might this have happened?
~Why do you think Frollo and Quasimodo's love for La Esmerelda drive each of them to such violent ends?
