The purpose of this page is to give the student instruction as to what is necessary to score high on an assignment.
Grading Rubric Used For Discussion Board
Ideas are clear, focused on the topic and related to the participant's expereinces or prior knowledge.  Participant demonstrates a thorough understanding of the concepts discussed.
Ideas are somewhat clear, focused and relevant to the topic.  Participant demonstrates an adequate understanding of the concepts discussed.
Ideas lack clarity, focus, or relevance to the topic, or demonstrate minimal understanding of the discussed concepts.

The initial post and response postings are a day late

Postings are after deadline dates

Grammar and expression adhere to the norms of standard English.  Writing appears in a style that is easily readable

Posted initial discussion contribution and response to two classmates' postings are within instructor time frames
Occasional mistakes of grammar or expression.  Writing appears in a style that is easily readable

Errors of style or expression and/or awkward sentences impede fluent reading of text.  None or little sentence variety; style is often trite or redundant.
