Novel and Poet Authors Posters
This assignment is rather simple....use the program link below to create an "online poster" for your assigned author/poet (listed wayyyyyy below). Many of you, including myself, are not artistic, so this "poster creator" lets you create with no creativity.

For those wondering WHY you have to make these posters? Here are a couple of reasons:
1. 'cuz I said so.....don't you hate it when adults say this?
2. It helps you to discover a bit about the author and what they wrote
3. Communication is very important and being able to attract people visually allows you to communicate. Let's say you want to give people information on a bulletin board, website, or brochure....if it doesn't attract people to look at it, they won't read it, and there will be no communication....making the work pointless.
For example, what if you are a fishing guide in Soldotna and you want people to go fishing with you because you are awesome at guiding? You put together a lame website and brochure that doesn't attract anyone's attention and they never read the incredible stuff you wrote about your experience....if no one reads it, then you did not communicate with them. So, graphics help draw people, so you can communicate.
Find pictures using google images, and type out the info necessary that I listed below.
So, what do I want for these poster?
Here is the list:
1. name of author/poet, in large letters
2. one picture of author/poet (NO MORE THAN ONE PICTURE) and no pictures of lots of other people in the author's life....like parents, second cousins, wife, or kids since they do not really interest whoever is looking at the poster.
3. a list of 3 of his/her works with a brief summary of each one (like 2 sentences for each one)
4. biography of the author (5-7 sentences is fine)
5. several pictures to enhance your poster...pictures cannot be of the author, since you already have one in #2. I also don't want any pictures of the books they wrote. What I would suggest, is that if you are doing someone like Mark Twain, use a couple pictures that have to do with books he wrote....like maybe a picture of Huck Finn, Tom Sawyer, or other characters or places.
