Assignment 16.6
Memory Moments
The story, The Giver spends a great deal of time discussing the importance of memories.
In The Giver, all knowledge of the experiences of humanity has been given to the Receiver of Memory so that no citizen of the Community will be “burdened” with the past. In our world, we have records—oral and written, printed and digital—that document our past.
Pick your birthday and write down two events that happened on your birthday, then give me a few key facts about that event. Finally, I want you to CHOOSE ONE EVENT and reflect on it about why might the event be important. And discuss why future generations might need to know that this event happened.
This should be about a 7 sentence paragraph
And....yes, it keeps going....end with your opinion of the importance of memories. Do we need them? What good are they for our future?
This should be about a 7 sentence paragraph
